Language is an important key to integration: HMF Smart Solutions GmbH has provided the Kooperative Gesamtschule (KGS) secondary school in Bad Münder with 100 new “German as a Second Language” textbooks.
These are intended primarily to help refugee children and young people from Ukraine and Syria to learn German, a language that is foreign to them, more easily and quickly in order to be able to integrate into normal everyday school life as soon as possible.
The new textbooks are used in three language learning classes that have been specially established, in which around 45 girls and boys are currently learning. “The pupils are highly motivated. Thanks to HMF’s support, we can now provide all refugee children with language learning books. This is fantastic,” says headmistress Malihe Papastefanou.
“We learned through the school’s support association that these teaching materials are urgently needed. We are therefore delighted to be able to make a small contribution to help integrate the refugee children,” said Chief Human Resources Officer Dr Katharina Tadje at the handover.
The management and staff of HMF Smart Solutions have felt a strong connection to the school in Bad Münder for many years. For example, alumni of the school include not only the company’s current trainees but also CEO Matthias Klausing.
